1. Who We Are

Toronto Global Academy (“TGA”, “we”, “our”, “us”) is a private online high school inspected by the Ontario Ministry of Education (BSID 884434) and authorized to grant the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).

We are committed to protecting the privacy of our students, parents, partners, and website users in accordance with:

• The Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA)
• The Ontario Education Act
• Applicable Ontario privacy regulations

2. Information We Collect

We collect personal information necessary to deliver academic programs and comply with Ministry requirements.

Student Information Collected:

• Full legal name
• Date of birth
• Address
• Email and phone number
• Ontario Education Number (OEN), if applicable
• Passport (for international students)
• Government-issued identification
• Academic transcripts
• Proof of prerequisite completion
• Emergency contact information
• Course progress and academic performance data

For students under 18:

• Parent/guardian name
• Parent/guardian contact information
• Billing information

We do not collect parent ID documentation.

3. How We Use Personal Information

We use personal information to:

• Register students in courses
• Verify identity and prerequisites
• Deliver online instruction
• Issue report cards and transcripts
• Submit marks to the Ontario Ministry of Education
• Submit marks to OUAC (where applicable)
• Monitor academic integrity
• Provide student support
• Process payments
• Send academic and administrative communications
• Send marketing communications (with opt-out ability)

4. Payment Processing

All payments are securely processed through:

• Stripe (payment processor)
• Klarna (payment plan provider)

Toronto Global Academy does not store credit card information on its servers. Third-party processors manage payment security under their own privacy policies.

5. Third-Party Platforms We Use

Student data may be processed through the following systems:

• Moodle (Learning Management System)
• Google Workspace (Drive, Gmail, Sheets)
• Google Meet (live instruction)
• Stripe (payment processing)
• Klarna (installment payments)
• Hostinger (secure website hosting in Canada)

These providers may process data in accordance with their own privacy policies.

6. International Partnerships

Toronto Global Academy works with international partner schools. In some cases, student information is provided to us by approved partner institutions for enrollment purposes.

We do not share student data externally unless:

• Required by law
• Required by the Ontario Ministry of Education
• Required for OUAC submission
• Authorized in writing by the parent/student

7. Data Storage & Security

• Our website server is hosted in Canada.
• Academic records are stored securely in Google Workspace.
• Transcript folders are accessible only to authorized administration staff.
• Teachers do not have access to full student documentation files.
• We implement administrative and technical safeguards to protect student records.

8. Marketing Communications

We may send promotional emails about:

• New programs
• Enrollment periods
• Updates

Users may unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link in our emails.

9. Data Retention

Student records are retained in accordance with Ontario Ministry requirements for private schools granting OSSD credits.

10. Access to Information

Students or parents may request:

• Access to personal records
• Corrections to inaccurate information
