Learning Outcomes

Apply active listening and comprehension strategies to understand and interpret increasingly complex oral texts; evaluate the effectiveness of speeches and presentations and refine their own speaking skills
Read and analyse a wide range of literary, informational and graphic texts; use comprehension strategies to identify themes and arguments, make inferences and evaluate perspectives and biases; reflect on reading strategies
Plan, draft, revise and edit writing for various purposes and audiences, including essays, reports and narratives; use language conventions and rhetorical devices to communicate clearly and effectively
Interpret and create media texts for specific purposes and audiences; identify and analyse forms, conventions and techniques; evaluate media influence and reflect on their own media production skills
